Maciek Gracz, an American-Polish professional poker player, was born in Warsaw, Poland, on October 23, 1980. He later moved to the United States and now resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. Known by the nicknames “Mike” and “The Kid,” Gracz has made a significant mark in the poker world.

In March 2005, he achieved his best live cash by winning the WPT PartyPoker.com Million IV, earning an impressive $1,500,000. Just a few months later, in June 2005, he won a coveted WSOP bracelet during the 36th World Series of Poker.

Over the course of his career, Gracz has accumulated total live earnings exceeding $3.1 million. Notably, he was also sponsored by the now-defunct Full Tilt Poker.

Maciek Gracz: Early Life

Maciek Gracz was born in Warsaw, Poland, on October 23, 1980. When he was four years old, his family moved to the United States, and they eventually settled in Raleigh, North Carolina. Maciek developed an interest in poker while working at a game shop during high school. He began reading everything he could about the game, which only fueled his passion. After graduating from North Carolina State University with a finance degree, Maciek played poker for fun while working as a waiter. However, his enthusiasm for the game prompted him to focus on poker more seriously.

In December 2004, while still in college, a friend entered him into the Trump Poker Classic at the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City. To his surprise, Maciek won the tournament, earning $295,275. Despite this significant win, he had to return to college to complete his final semester. After graduating, he briefly held a sales job, but soon realized that his true calling was poker. Consequently, he decided to quit his job and pursue a full-time career in poker.

Gracz recorded his first live cash in January 2004, he entered a $500 No Limit Hold’em event at the Bellagio Weekly Tournaments in Las Vegas, where he finished in 1st place and won $22,116.

Following this success, in December 2004, he participated in the $5,000 + 150 No Limit Hold’em Championship at the Trump Classic in Atlantic City, again taking 1st place and cashing $295,275.

Continuing his momentum, in June 2005, Gracz won a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event at the 36th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, earning $594,460 for his 1st place finish.

However, in June 2007, he competed in another $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event at the 38th World Series of Poker, finishing in 6th place and cashing $84,858.

Furthermore, in April 2008, Gracz participated in the $25,000 + 500 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event at the World Poker Tour World Championship in Las Vegas, where he finished in 11th place and took home $131,910.

In December 2019, he entered the $1,700 No Limit Hold’em – WSOPC Cherokee Main Event at Harrah’s Cherokee, finishing in 23rd place and cashing $9,700.
