Luis Velador is a Mexican-American professional poker player from Lake Elsinore, California, with over $2.5 million in live tournament earnings. He won at the L.A Poker Classic Event 13 in February 2003. His most notable achievement came in June 2008, along with his first WSOP bracelet, earning a remarkable $574,734.

In addition, he was sponsored by the now-defunct Full Tilt Poker. He has also won two bracelets during his poker career, at the 39th and 41st World Series of Poker events, respectively.

Luis Velador: Live Tournament Participation

Luis Velador’s first recorded live cash occurred in March 2000 during the Winnin’ o’ the Green in Bell Gardens. He finished in 1st place in a $300 Limit Hold’em Championship, winning $28,240.

In February 2003, Luis played in a $1,000 + 60 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo Event #13 at the L.A Poker Classic. He clinched another victory and won $54,995.

At the 39th WSOP in Las Vegas in June 2008, he won his biggest live cash of $574,734. Luis entered in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em and secured his first bracelet.

Following this, he clinched his second bracelet at the 41st WSOP in June 2010. Luis participated in a $2,500 Pot Limit Hold’em/Omaha and won a prize of $260,552.

Continuing his career, he secured 10th place at the 45th WSOP in June 2014, earning a substantial prize of $565,193.

Fast forward to June 2023. At the 54th WSOP, he secured a prize of $211,715. In this event, Luis joined in a $10,000 Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better Championship Bracelet Event #25 and finished in 3rd place.
