Ky Nguyen, also known as Suited Superman, is a professional poker player, Hustler Casino Ambassador, and a host. He was born in Vietnam on April 28, 1986. Ky is currently residing in Los Angeles, California. Nguyen now has over $974.6K in recorded tournament earnings under his belt. Nguyen has already beaten his career-best tournament cash by locking up a spot at the WPT Gardens Poker Championship. Ky won the top prize of more than $375,000. This achievment got his name etched in the history books as well as engraved on the Mike Sexton Champions Cup, the Daniel Arsham-designed trophy, and a winner’s belt. 

Nguyen is a high-stakes cash game regular who documents his poker adventures on an Instagram poker blog called ‘Suited Superman’. Ky Nguyen was born in Vietnam in 1986 to a family that embraced gambling. Every Tet Holiday or Lunar New Year, everyone from Nguyen’s grandmother to his cousins gathers to try their luck with their LiXi, which means lucky money.

Nguyen left his family and Vietnam at the age of 17 to study in the United States. He landed an engineering job in Los Angeles after finishing his undergraduate studies in Oregon. It started out as a hobby but then Nguyen won the 2016 Liz Flynt Fall Poker Classic at Hustler Casino for $53K. This was when he began playing at the Hustler more frequently and taking the game more seriously.

In Episode 188 streamed May 2022, Suited Superman added nearly $29.2K to his bankroll after playing $25/50/100 No Limit Hold ‘em, with buy-ins ranging from $10,000 to $50,000. Nguyen brought in for $10K and ended the night just shy of $49K. This was by far, his biggest win on HCL.

Nguyen faced his worst nightmare during the 382nd Episode in February 2023. He lost a whopping $100K after losing to known players such as Nik Airball, Tony Mars, Henry Guttman, and others. They played No Limit Hold ‘em for $25/50/100 stakes.

Ky has a running net loss of more than $170.2K. He made his last appearance in Episode 513 Thirsty Thursday in August 2023. He took part in the $10/20/40 No Limit Hold ‘em game alongside Dentist Dave, Dr. Patel, Linglin, and others.

Suited Superman: Live Tournament Participation

Ky Nguyen won his first World Poker Tour title by taking down the WPT Gardens Poker Championship in Las Vegas, in May 2023. It was his biggest cash out in a poker tournament, exceeding the $53,303 he won in the 2016 Liz Flynt Fall Poker Classic $240 buy-in tournament. He now has a total live earning of $964,614, with the best live cash being $375K. 

In January 2013, he began his poker career by competing at the WSOP Circuit Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles (Bell Gardens). He came in 11th place and earned $1.1K. On the other hand, his last appearance was in August 2023. He competed in the Legends of Poker tournament in Los Angeles (Bell Gardens). He finished 57th and earned more than $4.2k.
