Kayhan Mokri Early Life

Kayhan Mokri considers himself “pretty fresh” for a player who engages in stratospheric cash games and high stakes tournaments.  Mokri, like many other youthful poker players, began playing while still in college. And, like many other young poker players, Mokri’s academics were eventually overtaken by the game.In 2017, Mokri began playing online poker, and by the end of the year, he considered himself an expert.

Kayham Morki Poker Career

After becoming a professional poker player, Mokri relocated to Las Vegas and worked his way up to the biggest games in town. Including the legendary Bobby’s Room, where such poker legends as Patrik Antonius, David Benyamine, Eli Elezra, and Tom Dwan made their names. When he began playing poker in Norway’s underground poker clubs in 2015, Kayhan Mokri recalls witnessing top pros. Such as Timothy Adams and Nick Petrangelo compete at the highest stakes on the European Poker Tour (EPT) and elsewhere.

Eight years later, the 28-year-old, who is now a full-time professional, sits across the table from the same competitors. Since turning pro in 2018, Mokri has primarily focused on mid- and high-stakes cash games. However, he recently shifted his focus to tournaments and has played a crammed EPT schedule since March 2022. Since making the transition to tournaments a year ago, the Norwegian has become one of the top live high-stakes players. He has reached eight EPT final tables and has dominated the Mystery Bounty format. The Norwegian won $300,000 at PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, including two $100k prizes, and made three final table runs totalling $468,000.

Conclusion:

Mokri’s beginning of 2023 has had an excellent start to the new year. He won NOK 8.5 million in Pokerstar’s Caribbean Adventure, the year’s first major live and international event series. In the Bahamas, he made it to no less than three final tables and received nearly $500,000 in prize money for his efforts. In addition, he has racked up impressive kill counts in bounty tournaments. This year, Kayhan Mokri executes with surgical precision in the bounty format. The expectation of new Norwegian victories is high before the EPT begins in Paris.
