Joseph Simmons’ first recorded live cash occurred in September 2003 during the United States Poker Championship in Atlantic City. He finished in 2nd place in a $500 + 50 Limit Hold’em, cashing $16,700.

In July 2005, Joseph played in a $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold’em – World Championship Event at the 36th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 11th place and earned $54,965.

At the World Poker Finals in Mashantucket in November 2006, he won a cash prize of $51,041. Joseph participated in a $530 + 70 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo and finished in 1st place.
