John “Tex” Barch is an American businessman poker player who currently resides in McKinney, Texas. He earned a business degree from the University of Montana and now married with two children. Barch has earned over $3 million in live tournament winnings. His largest live cash, amounting to $2,500,000, was achieved when he reached the final table and finished 3rd in the 36th World Series of Poker held in Las Vegas in July 2005. In addition, Barch clinched his first bracelet at the 41st World Series of Poker in June 2010.
John Barch began his poker career with a notable result in June 1996 at the 2nd Annual New Mexico State Poker Championships in Albuquerque. He competed in the $70 + $5 Pot Limit Hold’em event, finishing in 10th place and earning $170.
Building on this early success, Barch participated in the $10,000 + $300 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event at the Festa Al Lago V Poker Tournament in Las Vegas in October 2006. He placed 28th and received $25,050.
Following this, in June 2007, Barch competed in the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em event at the 38th World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. He achieved 8th place and cashed $60,254.
The next year, in June 2008, Barch took part in the $10,000 World Championship Limit Hold’em event at the 39th WSOP in Las Vegas. He finished 17th and won $25,615.
A major milestone in Barch’s career came in June 2010 when he won the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha event at the 41st World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. His first-place finish earned him $256,919 and a WSOP bracelet.
Additionally, in July 2005, Barch placed 3rd in the $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold’em World Championship Event at the 36th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. For this result, he received $2,500,000.
Most recently, in January 2018, Barch competed in the $1,675 No Limit Hold’em Main Event at the WSOP Circuit in Choctaw, Durant. He finished in 53rd place and earned $5,564.
