John Spadavecchia, born on July 19th, 1938, was an Italian-American professional poker player and businessman from Lighthouse, Florida, with over $2.7 million in live tournament earnings. He clinched his first bracelet at the 22nd WSOP in May 1991. His best live cash of $648,320 came when he won his first ring at the WSOPC Las Vegas in May 2006. Unfortunately, John passed away on June 10th, 2023.

John Spadavecchia: Live Tournament Participation

John Spadavecchia’s first recorded live cash occurred in January 1986 at the Grand Prix of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 3rd place in a $2,500 Limit 7 Card Stud, cashing $20,000.

On May 1st, 1991, John entered in a $5,000 No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw at the 22nd World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 1st place and $58,500 added to his winnings.

In May 1994, John played in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Championship at the 25th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 3rd place and earned a substantial prize of $294,000.

Years later, in May 1996, he entered in a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em at the 27th WSOP. John reached the final table by placing 2nd and took home $126,825.

At the WSOP Circuit in Las Vegas in May 2006, he won his biggest live cash of $648,320. John joined in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em – Championship Event and finished in 1st place.

Later in July of that year, he participated in a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em at the 37th WSOP. John finished in 4th place and earned $163,817.

Moreover, in July 2007, he finished in 60th place at the 38th WSOP. He entered in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em – World Championship and secured a prize of $154,194.

Most recently, in November 2022, he competed in a $400 No Limit Hold’em – Deep Stack Event #1 at the WPT Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open in Hollywood. John placed 188th and cashed $1,215.
