Johan Storakers: Early Life

Johan has always been drawn to games that prioritize strategy. As a chess player in his youth, he developed a keen interest in tactics. His passion for competitive gaming grew in 1987 when he joined a school poker tournament.

For years, poker remained a hobby while he delivered newspapers, with each tournament loss adding to his workload. After six years of setbacks, his luck changed as he refined his skills, studied opponents and employing mathematical strategies.

Ultimately, his hard work paid off, leading to victories in numerous tournaments. With sponsorships in hand, Johan traveled to exciting destinations like Hawaii, Spain, and the Caribbean to compete. His first poker alias was “nytorget”. He lives his dream, guided by one principle: he never plays unless he can enjoy the experience.
