Jim Geary’s first recorded live cash occurred in February 1998 during the Peppermill Spring Tournament in Reno. He finished in 5th place in a $100 Limit Hold’em, cashing $1,117.

Subsequently, in February 2004, he participated in a $1,500 + 80 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo at the L.A. Poker Classic. He finished in 3rd place and earned $14,580.

In July 2007, Jim competed in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship at the 38th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Jim place 301st and cashed for $39,445.

During the 40th WSOP on May 29th, 2009, he finished in 7th place. Jim joined in a $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo and earned a cash prize of $32,404.

Most recently, in June 2012, he competed in a $1,500 Limit Hold’em – Shootout Event #25 at the 43rd WSOP. Jim placed 30th and took home $3,088.
