Jim Geary’s first recorded live cash occurred in February 1998 during the Peppermill Spring Tournament in Reno. He finished in 5th place in a $100 Limit Hold’em, cashing $1,117.

Subsequently, in February 2004, he participated in a $1,500 + 80 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo at the L.A. Poker Classic. He finished in 3rd place and earned $14,580.
