Jim Bucci recorded his first live cash in May 1990. He participated in a $2,500 Limit Hold’em during the 21st World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 5th place and cashed $31,750.

In August 1994, Jim participated in a $1,000 Hold’em at the 10th Annual Diamond Jim Brady in Oceanside. He finished in 1st place and won $30,800.

At the World Poker Finals in Mashantucket on December 3rd, 1995, he also finished in 1st place. He took part in a $1,050 7 Card Stud and won $36,800.

Shortly after, on December 17th, 1995 he joined $1,500 + 60 No Limit Hold’em at the Hall of Fame Poker Classic in Las Vegas. He secured 2nd place and took home $56,400.

Following this, in December 1996, he entered the $200 No Limit Hold’em at the World Poker Finals in Mashantucket. Jim finished 1st place and added $29,280 to his winnings.
