Jean Gaspard, known as “Prince,” is a Haitian poker player currently residing in Evanston, Illinois. He is a former professional basketball player who played overseas and attended a training camp with the NBA’s Chicago Bulls. Gaspard has earned over $3.1 million in live tournament winnings, including one WSOP bracelet and one WSOPC ring. His largest cash prize, amounting to $306,621, came from winning the 47th WSOP in June 2016.

Jean Gaspard’s poker career began in August 2003. He participated in a $300 + 30 No Limit Hold’em event at the Legends of Poker in Los Angeles. Gaspard finished in 6th place and pocketed $5,610.

In April 2009, he competed in a $5,000 + 180 No Limit Hold’em tournament at the Seventh Annual Five Star World Poker Classic in Las Vegas. Gaspard finished as the runner-up, earning $150,305.

A month later, in May 2009, Gaspard triumphed in a $5,000 + 150 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event at the WSOP Circuit in New Orleans. He claimed 1st place, winning $211,722 and a coveted gold ring.

In October 2015, Gaspard took part in a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em Championship at the 2015 Coco Poker Open in Coconut Creek. He finished 2nd, netting $155,000.

Gaspard captured his first WSOP bracelet in June 2016. He competed in a $10,000 Dealers Choice 6-Handed Championship at the 47th WSOP in Las Vegas. Jean emerged victorious, earning $306,621, which remains his best live cash to date.

Fast forward to June 2022, he placed 2nd in a $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship Event at the 53rd WSOP in Las Vegas, cashing for $153,433.

In a recent appearance in October 2024, Gaspard entered a $1,110 No Limit Hold’em Poker Championship at the Mid-States Poker Tour in Battle Creek, Michigan. He finished in 37th place and took home $7,308.
