Jan Olav Sjavik first recorded live cash occurred in May 2000 at the 31st WSOP in Las Vegas. He secured 23rd place in a $2,000 + 70 Pot Limit Hold’em, cashing $2,820.

In July 2001, Jan played in a £2,000 Main Event – No Limit Hold’em at the European Poker Championships in London. He finished in 1st place and won $135,408.

Following this, he entered in a $300 + 30 Limit Hold’em at the L.A Poker Classic in February 2002. He clinched another victory and $165,501 added to his winnings.

He continued his winning streak at the Fourth Annual Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December 2005. Jan joined in a $1,500 + 70 No Limit Hold’em Event and won a cash prize of $194,635.

At the European Poker Tour in London in September 2006, he won his biggest live cash of $317,478. Jan participated in a £3,500 + 50 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event and secured 3rd place.

Fast forward to October 2013. At the EPT in London, he took home $142,967. In this event, Jan played in a £5,000 + 250 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event and finished in 7th place.

In August 2019, he joined in a kr2,500 8 Game at the Norwegian Championship in Oslofjorden. Jan finished in 18th place and cashed $610.
