Jamil Wakil is a 21 year old Canadian poker pro player. He debuted his playing career when he placed sixth at the PokerStars Carribean Adventure Main Event at the Baha Mar Resort. He considered himself a recreational player even though he won in SCOOP.

Jamil Wakil: Early Life

Despite having already won online championships in the SCOOP, the Winter Series, and the Blowout Series on PokerStars and having another six-figure score in a WCOOP Sunday Warm-Up, Jamil Wakil was still only playing poker for fun. He plays as “Jamil11” online and is a crusher.

At the age of 14, he began working in a car wash. Since then, he has worked his way through positions with well-known businesses like Johnson & Johnson and Mercedes Benz to work in mutual funds for a significant Canadian bank. He was able to live comfortably thanks to his position, but his limited free time was the only time he could play poker. He made the decision to turn professional in August of last year after growing tired of seeing his competitors get better through study and more playing time.

Jamil Wakil: Poker Career Highlights

Jamil Wakil has recently entered the poker scene. He excels in tournaments, including $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em Eight Max. Where he finished 5th in the 2023 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series London, which was also his highest career cash with a total of $400,000.

He also finished 12th at the 2023 PokerStars EPT Paris €10,200 Mystery Bounty
