James Whittet’s upbringing as a nomad began early in life. Born in the UK, he embarked on a journey that took him to New York, Canada, and the Netherlands, all before he turned four. Moving around so much from an early age, he always had to learn how to relate to different types of people. After graduating from university, he found himself in a high-paying sales job that left him unfulfilled. The 2008 economic crisis brought unexpected change, prompting James to revisit his childhood passion for poker. He dove headfirst into the game, learning strategies through online resources and community support. This newfound dedication paid off as he quickly surpassed his previous income, gained recognition in the poker world, and moved to Las Vegas.
Despite setbacks such as the 2011 Black Friday, James embraced a nomadic lifestyle, exploring countries like Australia, Mexico, Canada, and Europe. Alongside his poker journey, he navigated personal highs and lows, emerging not just as a successful player but also as a life coach, now guiding others globally through his coaching business.
James Whittet began his poker career in April 2010. He participated in a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em event. It took place at the 2010 Deep Stack Extravaganza II in Las Vegas. Whittet finished 3rd and took home a whopping $52,945.
In July 2022, he participated in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em The Closer Event. It occurred at the 53rd WSOP in Las Vegas, finishing 27th and cashing for $16,740.
Continuing his poker journey, in July 2023, he competed in a $2,500 NLHE Bracelet Event. It took place at the 54th WSOP in Las Vegas. He finished 71st and secured $10,139 in prize money.
“TheDrunkLife” entered Event #14 of the $500 + $30 Pot Limit Omaha Mini Knockout, hosted by PokerGO‘s Poker Masters Online Pot Limit Omaha Series in June 2020. He finished in 12th place, earning $521 in prize money.
On August 16th, 2021, he placed 33rd in a $400 Pot Limit Omaha PLOSSUS ONLINE event. It took place at the WSOP Online hosted by GGPoker, securing a prize of $2,847.
Six days later, on August 22nd, 2021, he finished 47th in a $1,050 No Limit Hold’em WSOP GGMasters High Roller Freezeout Online Event. He earned $5,595.
