Isabelle Mercier: Early Life

Born in Quebec in 1975, Isabelle Mercier earned a law degree from the University of Montreal before moving to France, where she managed the poker room at the prestigious Aviation Club de France. In 2004, she sold all her possessions to fund her poker career, starting with $10,000 and a suitcase of clothes. Facing modest living conditions and grinding mid-stakes cash games, Mercier overcame challenges to pursue her passion, ultimately achieving success on poker’s biggest stages.

Isabelle Mercier’s first live cash was recorded in June 2001. It took place at the Austrian Masters in Vienna Simmering. She participated in ATS 36,050 World Heads Up Poker Championships Finals, placing 33rd and earned $429.
