On December 24th, 2019, during the 2019 TJPT Championship Finale held in Tianjin, China, Zhao reached the pinnacle of his career. Competing in the ¥4,800 No Limit Hold’em Elite Deepstack by Ningbo Golden Shark event, Zhao demonstrated his mastery by emerging as the champion. Hongjun Zhao, a rising figure in the professional poker world, made his tournament debut on April 11th, 2019, at the ShengJing Poker Tournament (SJPT)-SHEN YANG 2019 in Shenyang. In this inaugural event, he finished 29th in the competitive ¥5,500 No Limit Hold’em Main Event, earning a respectable $2,489.

Building on his initial success, Zhao continued to excel in the poker circuit. On October 10th, 2019, he distinguished himself at the Tiger Poker Cup 2019 Season 2 in Beijing, securing the 8th place spot in the ¥8,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event #1 and earning an impressive $22,894.

Zhao’s ascent in the poker world reached new heights on December 24th, 2019, when he emerged victorious in the ¥4,800 No Limit Hold’em Elite Deepstack at the Ningbo Golden Shark event held in Tianjin, claiming the coveted 1st place prize of $15,799.

On July 26th, 2020, at the 2020 The 5th SHENGJING CUP International Intellectual Game in Shenyang, he competed in the ¥2,200 No Limit Hold’em 6-Max Short Deck Turbo event, securing a commendable 7th place finish and earning $837.

Despite his earlier successes, Zhao faced a setback in his most recent appearance on March 19th, 2024, in Jeju. Competing in the prestigious $50k SD Main Event, Zhao faced tough competition but was unable to secure a cash prize.
