Hans Lund was an American professional poker player from Sparks, Nevada, born on September 23, 1950 with over $2.9 million in live tournament earnings. During his poker career, he won two bracelets. His most notable achievement came in May 1990, when he finished in 2nd place at the 21st WSOP, earning a remarkable $334,000. He passed away on November 6th, 2009, after a long battle with cancer.
Hans Lund’s first recorded live cash occurred in May 1978 at the 9th WSOP in Las Vegas. He secured his first bracelet in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em, winning $46,800.
In February 1983, Hans played in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em at Amarillo Slim’s Superbowl Of Poker in Las Vegas. He clinched another victory and won $275,000.
Continuing his career, Hans joined in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em at the 19th WSOP in May 1998. He finished in 2nd place and earned $113,625.
At the 21st WSOP in May 1990, he secured his biggest live cash of $18,145. Hans participated in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship and finished in 2nd place.
Following this, Hans entered in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em at the 7th Annual Diamond Jim Brady in Bell Gardens August 1991. He finished in 2nd place and took home $115,000.
In May 1992, Hans played in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Championship at the 23rd WSOP. He finished in 2nd place and claimed a prize of $176,750.
