George Rechnitzer recorded his first live cash on February 7th, 1998. He participated in a $300 + 30 7 Card Stud during the L.A. Poker Classic in Los Angeles. He finished in 7th place and cashed $1,836.

Shortly after, on February 23rd, 1998, he joined $1,000 + 60 7 Card Stud at the same event. He finished in 1st place and won $20,000.

Following this, in June 2002, he entered the $300 + 30 Limit Hold’em at the California State Poker Championship in Los Angeles. George finished 3rd place and earned $29,697.
