Gene Fisher is an American professional poker player from El Paso, Texas, with over $1.2 million in live tournament earnings. During his poker career, he won two bracelets at the WSOP: one at the 11th event and another at the 24th event. Remarkably, he won the same amount of $113,400 for both bracelets, and this amount is his biggest live cash to date.

Gene Fisher’s first recorded live cash occurred in May 1980 during the 11th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 1st place in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em and won his biggest live cash of $113,400.

Year later, in May 1981, Gene played in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship during the 12th WSOP. He finished in 3rd place and earned $75,000.

During the Amarillo Slim’s Superbowl Of Poker in Las Vegas in February 1987, he clinched victory. Gene took part in a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em and $63,000 added to his winnings.

He returned to the Amarillo Slim’s Superbowl Of Poker to compete in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em in February 1989. Gene finished in 2nd place and earned a cash prize of $102,500.

At the 24th WSOP in May 1993, he won another $113,400. Gene joined in a $1,500 7 Card Stud Split and finished in 1st place.

Most recently, in November 2023, he competed in a $100 No Limit Hold’em – 6pm during the South Point Recurring Tournaments in Las Vegas. Gene placed 3rd and took home $1,090.
