Gary Lent recorded his first live cash in May 1993. He participated in a No Limit Hold’em during the Three Day Tournament in Tacoma. He finished in 4th place and cashed $1,410.

In December 1999, Gary played in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship at the 30th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He placed 10th and earned $44,720.

Following this, in August 2001, he entered the $300 + 30 Omaha Hi/Lo at the Legends of Poker in Los Angeles. Gary finished in 1st place and won $22,725.
