Galen Kester’s first recorded live cash occurred in April 2001 during the 32nd World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 1st place in a $1,500 + 90 Pot Limit Omaha, winning $167,035.

In January 2003, Galen played in a $1,000 + 60 Pot Limit Hold’em during the Fourth Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open in Tunica. He clinched victory and won $152,096.

During the Gold Strike World Poker Open in Tunica in January 2006, he clinched another victory. Galen took part in a $2,000 + 70 No Limit Hold’em and $101,212 added to his winnings.
