Gabriel Thaler’s first live cash occurred in June 2003, he entered the $500 + $40 No Limit Hold’em California State Poker Championship in Los Angeles, where he took 15th place, resulting in a cash of $2,725.

A year later, in April 2004, he competed in the $5,000 + $150 No Limit Hold’em World Poker Tour Championship in Las Vegas, finishing 4th and receiving $82,417.

Shortly thereafter, in May 2004, he participated in the $3,000 Pot Limit Hold’em event at the 35th World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, achieving 3rd place and earning $69,780.
