Erik Sagstrom: Early Life

Erik Sagstrom was raised in Gothenburg, Sweden. He discovered poker by chance while browsing the internet, starting at ParadisePoker when he was 17. Since then, he has become a skilled player and managed to set up the online poker cardroom at PokerChamps.

Sagstrom: Live Tournament Participation

Sagstrom’s first recorded live cash occurred in November 2002. He finished 3rd in a £200 + 20 Limit Hold’em at the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam City Centre. He cashed $7,614.

In February 2003 he participated in a €1,000 No Limit Holdem at the Euro Finals of Poker in Paris in February 2003. He finished in 1st place winning $17,519.

In June 2009, he secured his biggest live cash of $522,393 at the 40th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He took part in a $ 50,000 World Championship H.O.R.S.E. and placed 3rd.

At the WSOP Circuit in Nevada in September 2016, he played in a $5,300 No Limit Hold’em High Roller #36. He also finished in 1st place and won $65,000.

He also entered the PokerGO Tour in June 2021. Sagstrom participated in a $10,000 8-Game Mix – U.S. Poker Open #6. He placed 5th earning $54,400.

In addition, Sagstrom took part in a $10,000 Razz Championship Event 78 at the 52nd WSOP in November 2020. Sagstrom placed 4th and took home $90,859.

Most recently, in November 2023, at the North American Poker Tour. Sagstrom obtained 5th in the $5,200 Mixed Game #23, earning $13,970.
