Dustin Sitar, known as “DocHolatchya,” is an American poker player and author based in Las Vegas. Sitar has accumulated nearly $234K in live tournament earnings, with his best live cash of $53,755 earned after placing 2nd at the 2005 Rio Las Vegas Poker Festival. He also claimed victory in the $10,000 HORSE event during the 2008 World Championship of Online Poker, for $287,500.
Beyond poker, Sitar serves as Head of Growth & Marketing at Brite.co, a jewelry insurance company, and is the Managing Editor of The Groom Club magazine.
Sitar started playing poker with friends and became fascinated by the game. After returning to Texas and finding no Vegas-style card rooms, he turned to online poker, ultimately going professional in 2002. Known as “DocHolatchya,” Sitar’s nickname reflects his admiration for Doc Holliday, the legendary gunslinger immortalized in the Western classic Tombstone.
Dustin Sitar’s first live cash was recorded in August 2004 at the Fourth Annual Jack Binion Mid-America Poker Classic in Tunica. He participated in a $2,200 No Limit Hold’em Championship event, placing 3rd and earned $47,666.
In January 2005, Sitar competed in the Sixth Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open also in Tunica. He participated in a $550 Omaha Hi/Lo event, finishing 4th and cashed for $10,397.
In March 2005, Sitar made his biggest live cash to date at the Rio Las Vegas Poker Festival. He participated in the $1,570 No Limit Hold’em event and finished 2nd, earning $53,755.
A month later, in June 2005, Sitar took part in a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em event at the 36th WSOP in Las Vegas. He finished in 20th place and earned $12,145.
In June 2008, Sitar cashed in two WSOP events in Las Vegas. He placed 15th in the $ 2,500 Pot Limit Hold’em/Omaha event, securing $12,087 in prize money. A couple of days later, he finished 25th in the $10,000 World Championship Omaha Hi/Lo Split event, taking home $22,090.
A decade later, in June 2019, Sitar participated in the $1,500 Limit Hold’em (Event #41) at the 49th WSOP. He finished in 15th place, earning $7,031.
In May 2024 at the 55th WSOP. There, he finished 18th in the $ 1,500 Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better 8-Handed (Bracelet Event #4) for $8,129.
