Douglas Carli

Douglas Carli, also known as ‘Rico,’ is an American professional poker player and retired stockbroker. He resides in Alliance, Ohio, and has accumulated over $1.4 million in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $116,936 came in July 2006 when he finished 7th at the 36th WSOP in Las Vegas. Carli is also a three-time WSOP Circuit ring winner.

Douglas Carli: Early Life

Doug Carli, a former minor league baseball player, spent over 15 years as a pitcher and outfielder, earning an MVP award in one season. Alongside baseball, he ran a stock brokerage branch and retired early after making successful investments during the Internet bubble. Carli has played poker since childhood, often with his father and older brother. After retiring, he took a break from poker but returned in 2005, eventually becoming a dominant force on the WSOP Circuit.

Douglas Carli recorded his first live cash in January 2005, finishing 3rd in the $1,580 NLH event at the WSOPC in Atlantic City, earning $19,635.

In October 2005, he finished 5th in the $10,000 Championship NLH event at the WSOPC Southern Indiana in Elizabeth, earning $85,120.

His best live cash came in July 2006 when he placed 7th in the $5,000 NLH event at the 37th WSOP in Las Vegas, winning $116,936.

In October 2006, Carli secured 5th place in the $5,150 NLH Championship event at the WSOPC Southern Indiana in Elizabeth. He earned $48,519.

In June 2007, he placed 3rd in the $2,000 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 8 or Better event at the 38th WSOP in Las Vegas, earning $61,880.

In his most recent participation, in June 2019, Carli finished 247th in the $600 Mixed NLH/PLO Deepstack 8-Handed event at the 50th WSOP in Las Vegas, earning $1,068.
