Doug Paxton recorded his first live cash in October 2002. He participated in a $1,000 + 50 No Limit Hold’em Championship during the Fall Poker Classic in Shakopee. He placed 17th and cashed $1,271.

Subsequently, in January 2003, he competed in a $500 + 40 Pot Limit Omaha at the Fourth Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open in Tunica. He placed 4th and cashed for $15,685.

Following this, in January 2004, he entered the $500 + 50 Pot Limit Hold’em at the Fifth Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open. Doug finished 2nd place and earned $37,683.

In February 2006, Doug played in a $ 3,000 + 60 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event at the Oklahoma State Championship of Poker inTulsa. He finished 1st and won his biggest live cash of $121,452.

During the Deep Stack Extravaganza III in Las Vegas in June 2009, he achieved 5th place. He took part in a $500 + 50 No Limit Hold’em and earned $17,254.

Most recently, in July 2024, he competed in a $300 No Limit Hold’em – Ring Event #9 at the WSOPC in Oklahoma. He placed 49th and took home $600.
