Dick Carson’s first recorded live cash occurred in May 1980 at the 11th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 5th place in a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em, cashing $6,900.

In February 1983, Dick played in a $5,000 Limit A-5 Lowball at Amarillo Slim’s Superbowl Of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 1st place and won $48,000.

At the 16th WSOP in May 1985, he won a cash prize of $50,000. Dick joined in a $2,500 No Limit Ace to Five Draw and finished in 1st place.
