He co-founded Clarify Inc. in 1990, which later became the first public company in what is now known as CRM, following its acquisition by Nortel Inc. in 2000. David held various Board of Director positions at technology firms and advised several venture capital funds. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a patent on single-chip microprocessor technology.

David Stamm: Aviation Enthusiast and Pilot

When he was 13, his dad took him to a local airport, and from that first flight, he was hooked. He got his pilot’s license when he turned 21 and now has over 4,000 hours of flying experience.

At 24, he bought a new Cessna 172 trainer using stock options from his job at Intel. Over the years, he’s owned larger planes, but that trusty 4-seater 172 has been with him for 45 years.

After retiring, he flew across the country and back. Flying at 5,000 feet, he got to see the vast and diverse landscapes of his immense country. It took him 25 hours of flying each way, with many stops to catch up with friends and explore national parks along the route.

David Stamm: Early Life

About 10 years ago, he hired a poker coach to improve his game. Around 6 years later, new tools like PioSolver, MonkerSolver, and PokerSnowie came out, changing how he played poker. By working hard and sticking to a plan, he learned much faster than most people do. A few years ago, he won $325,000 at the Venetian main event. At the final table, where 8 experienced players surrounded him, they joked that his excellent play might be due to secret advice he was getting through his headphones. It felt great for him to beat much younger opponents and win at age 65.
