David Albert Friedberg is an American entrepreneur, businessman, and angel investor who was born on June 6, 1980. He currently serves as the founder and CEO of The Production Board. He co-hosts the All-In podcast. He has contributed to 32 patents over the course of his career.
He is also a live tournament participant and plays in the Hustler Casino Live high-stakes cash game livestream.
David Friedberg was born in South Africa in 1980. He moved to Los Angeles, California, with his family when he was six years old. Friedberg was president of the environmental club, Students Healing Our Planet Earth, in high school. He enrolled at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, at the age of 16, where he worked in a pool hall and learned to play poker.
After spending a year in upstate New York, he transferred to the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics in 2001 and worked part-time doing mathematical modeling at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Along with Chamath Palihapitiya, David O. Sacks, and Jason Calacanis, Friedberg co-hosts the business and investing podcast All-In with the other three.
David made his first and only appearance on Hustler Casino Live in Episode 375 on February 13, 2023. He faced off against well-known poker players and HCL regulars like Phil Hellmuth, Alan Keating, Stanley Tang, Chamath Palihapitiya, and others. He earned and pocketed $30,700 during that episode. In that episode, Chamath made the most money, taking home $361,500.
David does not only plays cash games, he also competes in live tournaments. In July 2001, he made his first recorded appearance at the San Francisco Open in San Pablo, finishing ninth. In November of that year, he also finished ninth at the 2nd Annual 49’er Gold Rush Bonanza in San Francisco, earning $440.
In 2002, he competed in two events: the Battle of the Bay 2002 in San Francisco and Thunder by the Bay in San Pablo. He earned a total of $1,790 by finishing 18th and 4th. He also participated in the San Francisco Open in San Pablo in 2003. He placed sixth out of 158 competitors, earning $1,445 for his efforts.
In terms of his most recent appearance and participation in a live tournament, he was last seen at the 2012 Wynn Casino Recurring Tournaments in Las Vegas. He made his mark and won first place.
David Friedberg, one of the co-hosts of the All In podcast, has played both live tournaments and cash games. He may not be as active, but his career outside of poker has been extremely successful. David’s single appearance at HCL does not imply that it will be his last. Many people believe that more of him will be made public soon, and we will undoubtedly cover more of him.
