David Eldridge, popularly known as “Dave,” is a well-known American poker player from Gibson, Pennsylvania. He started off as a relative novice to the poker industry but has since become an avid competitor in tournaments all around the country. Dave’s lack of interest at the poker table contrasts with his apparent expertise in all game aspects. His second-place finish at the World Poker Tour’s Fallsview Poker Classic in Niagara Falls in February 2017 is what made him most famous. In the 13 months that preceded , Eldridge has accrued seven more World Poker Tour cashes, including three top-20 finishes in Season XVI of the WPT Main Tour. His most recent live earnings are $1,700,000, and his best live cash to date is $255,000.

David Eldridge: Early Life

Dave Eldridge was a successful businessman who worked for cell phone companies. Eldridge first became involved with poker when he was trying to expand his business portfolio and he has continued to do so ever since. Before starting his business, he enjoyed playing frequently but stopped due to the long hours he had to work. After re-joining the cut, he started competing in events and winning money. The goal of his tournament strategy back then was to just break even.

David Eldridge: Poker Career

In February 2007 in Las Vegas, David Eldridge made his first appearance in a live competition at the Bellagio Weekly Tournaments. He placed 10th and won $1,630. In August 2008, he returned to Las Vegas for the Bellagio Weekly Tournaments after a year-long break. David’s progress moved up from the 10th position in his first game to the 2nd position in his second game. He received a prize of $9,250.

David participated in the Deep Stack Extravaganza III and Bellagio Summer Dailies for two days in June 2009. He finished in positions 47 and 8, respectively, winning $696 and $1,865 back-to-back. 

In July 2011, he also competed in the 42nd World Series of Poker, finishing in 51st place. He received a winning award of $12,261. Eldridge is exposed to unusual scenarios through tournament competitiveness, which he finds challenging. Eldridge typically attends events near to the East Coast, but he claims he will keep broadening his itinerary so he may visit more places and go on new adventures.

He ultimately achieved the top spot at the No Limit Hold’em Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, Hollywood, in August 2015, taking home the $146,100 first-place prize. It was his finest live cash game of poker in eight years.

In February 2017 in Niagara Falls, he turned in yet another outstanding performance during the World Poker Tour’s Fallsview Poker Classic. He finished second and took home a whooping $229,058. He became most well-known because of this  event. Eldridge has won seven World Poker Tour cashes in the past 13 months. The three top twenty finishes in Season sixteen of the World Poker Main Tour.

David once again won the PartypokerLIVE – partypoker MILLIONS in Kahnawake, North America in April 2018. He was awarded the grand prize of $236,122. He returned to the same tournament in November of the following year and this time placed fourth while winning another $255,000. Notably, this is his strongest live performance to date.

David held the top spot in the World Series of Poker 2021 Gold Bracelet Events, Online, in November 2021. He won $41,553. Also, he played in the 54th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas two years later and took home $43,946. He moved up to 52th place.

David Eldridge still participates in live tournaments nowadays. He played his last hand at the 54th World Series of Poker in 2023 in Las Vegas, finishing in 459th place. He won $37,500. In addition, he stated in the interview that, after family and business, poker is third on his list of priorities. Three of his children are under the age of six.
