David Chiu is a Chinese-American professional poker player residing in Rowland Heights, California. He was born on August 23, 1960 in China and raised in the US. David has accumulated over $8 million in live career earnings and has won five WSOP bracelets. His best live cash of $3,389,140 came when he won the WPT World Championship in April 2008.

David Chiu: Early Life

He was born in China and grew up in the United States. David used to own a restaurant and work as a poker dealer. His first significant live tournament achievement occurred in 1996 at the 27th World Series of Poker, where he claimed his first WSOP gold bracelet along with a cash prize of $396,000.

David Chiu’s first recorded live cash occurred in April 1996 at the 27th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He won his first bracelet in a $2,000 Limit Hold’em, winning $396,000.

Later in November of that year, he participated in a $2,500 + 70 No Limit Hold’em during the United States Poker Championship in Atlantic City. David clinched another victory and won $91,000.

Following his success, he finished in 2nd place at the 33rd WSOP, earning $206,420.

At the WPT World Championship in Las Vegas in April 2008, David won his biggest live cash of a cash of $3,389,140. He participated in a $25,000 + 500 No Limit Hold’em – Championship Event and finished in 1st place.
