David Benefield, born on May 17, 1986, was raised in Texas, USA. At 16, he started playing poker with friends, but lacked knowledge about adult stakes. He developed his skills playing in low-limit underground cash games for a few years before beginning to play online poker at the age of 18. Benefield made quick improvements while also losing interest in school. He left college to concentrate on poker.
