Dave Penly’s first live cash was recorded in January 2003. He participated in a £100 + 10 Pot Limit Hold’em event at the Grosvenor Grand Challenge in Luton. He finished 7th and earned $1,559. 

Subsequently, in March 2008, Penly achieved a significant milestone by winning the £500 + 50 No Limit Hold’em event at the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour in London. He finished 1st and secured $52,855 in prize money.

In September 2008, he achieved his best live cash by placing 6th in a £5,000 + 250 Pot Limit Omaha event at the WSOP Europe in London. He earned an impressive $75,022.

Later that year, in August, he competed in a $400 Pot Limit Omaha event at the WSOP Online, hosted by GGPoker. He ended in 247th place and took home $876.
