Dario Sammartino began his poker career with his first live cash in November 2008. He participated in a €1,000 + 100 No Limit Hold’em Main Event at the Royal Poker Tour, Red Sea, Sharm el Sheikh. Sammartino placed 8th and took home $4,781.

Subsequently, in April 2015, Sammartino competed in a €98,000 + 2,000 No Limit Hold’em Super High Roller Event at the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo. He made it to the final table finishing 4th for $782,465.

In January 2016, he reached the final table in a $25,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller 8-Handed Event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in Paradise Island. He placed 3rd and received $542,160 in prize money.
