Daniel Dvoress, widely known in poker circles by his alias Oxota, was born on July 12th, 1988, in Mississauga, Ontario, and currently resides in Toronto. However, it was an event in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, that truly etched Dvoress’s name among the poker elite. On November 6th, 2023, during the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) 2023, Dvoress displayed his unparalleled skill in the WSOP PKRGO €25,000 No Limit Hold’em WSOPE GGMillion$ event, Bracelet Event #8. Daniel Dvoress: Early Life

Daniel Dvoress discovered poker during his senior year of high school and quickly became enamored with the game, diving into online play. However, his parents were less than thrilled when they found out about his new hobby, promptly making him quit. Despite their efforts, poker found a way back into his life.

After starting university, Daniel found himself strapped for cash with looming student loans. In a semi-secretive manner, he returned to playing poker, gradually honing his skills and finding success. Over the course of two to three years, his proficiency grew, leading him to realize that poker wasn’t just a pastime but a profession he wanted to pursue.

Outside of poker, Daniel has a passion for ice fishing, enjoying the serene solitude it offers away from the intensity of the poker table.

Daniel Dvoress: Poker Achievements

Daniel Dvoress began his first recorded tournament journey in Paradise Island, Bahamas, on January 12th, 2013. In his inaugural event, the $1,100 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure – PCA 2013, he claimed the 39th spot, taking home $2,700.

His talent became more apparent over the years. Demonstrating his skill at the €25,500 No Limit Hold’em EPT High Roller event during the European Poker Tour – EPT Malta on March 18th, 2015, he secured 3rd place and a substantial prize of $278,454.

Dvoress continued to excel, competing in prestigious tournaments around the globe. Returning to Paradise Island on January 6th, 2016, he participated in the $100,000 No Limit Hold’em Super High Roller 8-Handed event at the PCA 2016, claiming 7th place and a prize of $286,920.

His journey took him to Macau on November 11th, 2016, where he showcased his talent in the HK$250,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller event at the 2016 Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP), finishing 3rd and earning $293,840.

Returning to the Bahamas on January 6th, 2017, Dvoress competed in the $100,000 No Limit Hold’em PokerStars Championship Super High Roller event during the PokerStars Championship Bahamas, securing 4th place and a substantial prize of $576,300.

Monaco beckoned next. On April 27th, 2017, Dvoress battled in the €100,000 No Limit Hold’em Super High Roller Eight Max event at the PokerStars Championship presented by Monte-Carlo Casino, clinching 3rd place and a prize of $908,595.

Dominating the European Poker Tour Circuit: EPT Monte Carlo Successes

His journey of success continued in Monte Carlo on April 29th, 2018, during the European Poker Tour – EPT Monte Carlo, where he competed in the €50,000 No Limit Hold’em 8 Handed event, securing 5th place and winning $216,628.

In November 2019, back in the Bahamas, Dvoress achieved a career highlight, triumphing in the $250,000 No Limit Hold’em Super High Roller Bowl Bahamas during the partypoker LIVE – partypoker MILLIONS World Bahamas. His victory was staggering, earning him a remarkable $4,080,000.

Even in the face of evolving poker landscapes, Dvoress remained a force to be reckoned with. On May 24th, 2020, he conquered the virtual felt, emerging victorious in the $25,500 No Limit Hold’em Super High Roller event during the Super High Roller Bowl Online, securing a prize of $613,987.

Later that year, on August 2nd, 2020, Dvoress continued his winning streak in an international online event hosted by GGPoker, triumphing in the WSOP $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER during the World Series of Poker – WSOP Online 2020. His victory brought him a massive prize of $1,489,289.

His journey of success reached another milestone on April 30th, 2022, during the European Poker Tour – EPT Monte Carlo, where he secured 2nd place in the €25,000 No Limit Hold’em event, earning $408,773.

Then, on November 6th, 2023, in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, he participated in the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) 2023. Specifically, he competed in the €25,000 No Limit Hold’em WSOPE GGMillion$ event (Bracelet Event #8). Remarkably, he clinched the 1st positio, securing a prize of $644,150.

Daniel Dvoress: Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Achievements

In May 2019, during the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Montenegro held in Budva, Montenegro, he made notable appearances in various events. Firstly, on May 6th, he competed in the HK$500,000 No Limit Hold’em 6-Handed event (Event #2), clinching the 2nd position and earning a prize of $947,028. 

Following this, on May 10th, he participated in the HK$1,000,000 No Limit Hold’em Triton Montenegro Short Deck Main Event (Event #11), securing 4th place and winning $1,155,694. Later, on May 14th, he engaged in the HK$250,000 Short Deck No Limit Hold’em Ante Only event (Event #6), achieving 2nd place with a prize of $402,604.

Moving forward to April 3rd, 2022, he competed in the Triton Poker Cyprus – Special Edition in Kyrenia, Cyprus. Specifically, he joined the $100,000 No Limit Hold’em Triton Cyprus #2 event, finishing 5th and earning $529,000.

More Achievements in Triton Tournaments

On May 24th, 2022, in Madrid, Spain, he participated in the Triton Poker Series Madrid, contesting in the €150,000 No Limit Short Deck Hold’em Ante Only event (Event #13). He secured the 2nd position, garnering a prize of $1,266,995.

Transitioning to November 3rd, 2023, he showcased his skills at the Triton Super High Roller Series Monte Carlo in Monaco. In the $52,000 Pot Limit Omaha event (Event #12), he emerged victorious, claiming the 1st position with a prize of $956,000.

More recently, on March 16th, 2024, during the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju in South Korea, he competed in the $31,100 Pot Limit Omaha – Bounty Quattro 6-Handed event (Event #13), securing 2nd place and winning $302,000. 

Shortly after, on March 21st, 2024, marked his latest appearance as of writing, he participated in the $21,200 No Limit Short Deck Hold’em Ante Only event (Event #19), finishing 4th with a prize of $92,000.
