Cyndy Violette is an American professional poker player and business owner from Queens, New York, with over $1.4 million in live tournament earnings. During her poker career, she won her first bracelet at the 35th WSOP in May 2004. Her best live cash of $295,970 came when she finished in 2nd place at the 36th WSOP in June 2005.
She was also sponsored by the now-defunct Full Tilt Poker.
Born on August 19, 1959, in Queens, New York, she moved to Las Vegas with her family when she was just 12. Growing up, she played poker with her family and started playing in casinos at a young age. Although she briefly worked as a poker and blackjack dealer, she soon realized that playing poker was much more profitable.
In 1984, she began to make a name for herself in tournaments, winning $74,000 in a limit seven-card stud tournament at the Annual Jack Straus World Match Play Championships. At that time, it was the largest tournament cash prize ever won by a woman. In 1993, she moved to Atlantic City, giving her the chance to take a break, enjoy life, and focus on her passion for healthy vegetarian cooking.
Cyndy Violette’s first recorded live cash occurred in December 1984 at the Annual Jack Straus World Match Play Championships. She finished in 4th place in a $1,000 Limit 7 Card Stud, cashing $1,900.
Following this, Cyndy joined a Limit 7 Card Stud during the Stairway to the Stars in Las Vegas in January 1985. She finished in 1st place and won $75,000.
Fast forward to May 2004. At the 35th WSOP, she won a prize of $135,900. In this event, Cyndy engaged in a $2,000 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo Split and clinched another victory.
In June 2005, Cyndy played in a $2,000 No Limit Hold’em at the 36th WSOP. She finished in 2nd place and secured her biggest live cash of $295,970.
Moreover, in July 2006, she entered in a $5,000 7 Card Stud at the 37th WSOP. She finished in 3rd place and earned 102,648.
Later in December of that year, she participated in a $15,000 + 400 No Limit Hold’em at the Fifth Annual Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas. Cyndy placed 14th and cashed $84,570.
In July 2024 , Cyndy competed in a $245 Mixed Game 8 Game Mix during the Orleans Summer Poker Open. She ended up in 18th place, earning $486.
