Chris Moorman is a professional poker player from the United Kingdom who lives in Brighton. Many people consider him to be among the all-time best online poker players. He has quickly transitioned from online poker to live poker with great success. Currently, he has earned over $6.7 Million from live tournaments. He is one of the top 10 players in the Global Poker Index in England and has played in a lot of final tables and cash games. Moorman has cashed several times in live tournaments, including the World Series and World Poker Tour titles. Moorman has won over 25 Triple crown events. He has appeared on the final tables of the WSOP Europe, European Poker Tour, World Poker Tour, and Aussie Millions. 

Additionally, in 2016, Chris Moorman became an 888poker ambassador where his moniker becomes ‘888moorman’ to reflect his ambassador status. He was an 888poker ambassador for 5 years. Then months after his departure from 888Poker, in 2021, Chris Moorman together with Katie Lindsay signed contracts with Americas Cardroom, now know as just ACR. Moorman’s decision came as a big surprise as the pair joined Chris Moneymaker and as ACR’s biggest 2021 signings. 

Chris Moorman: Early Life

Moorman began playing poker in 2006 and had earned a name for himself in the online poker industry by 2008. He kept his poker-playing secret from his parents to reach the top online poker world. Eventually, he found a way to tell them about his success. It took some effort, but he eventually won them over. Simon (Chris’ dad) won the 2009 Grosvenor Poker Tour Main Event for $131,545 after Chris paid his entry fee as a birthday present. Simon, the first Moorman clan member to win a live tournament, reminded his son of this at all times. 

Chris Moorman: Poker Career

  • Moorman won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in a $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament in 2017 for almost $500,000. He has since won several additional WSOP cash and final table prizes. 
  • He won his first million in October 2011 during the € 10,000 + 400 Main Event – No Limit Hold’em World Series Of Poker Europe – WSOPE 2011, Cannes. He was placed in 2nd and took home $ 1,068,690.
  • In 2014, he won his first World Poker Tour championship for more than $1 million at the $ 10,000 No Limit Hold’em – WPT LA Poker Classic Main Event World Poker Tour.
  • Moorman has also won the FTOPS Main Event, the SCOOP Main Event, and the Super Tuesday on PokerStars. 
  • In 2014, Moorman received the British Poker Awards’ Player of the Year award. Bluff Magazine has also twice named him Online Player of the Year.
  • In 2021, Chris Moorman once again showcase his skills as he wins 2021 WSOP Event #29: $800 NLH 8-Max Turbo. He took down the $102,406 first-place prize and the second bracelet of his career.

Chris Moorman’s winning strategy was included in a new book by D&B Poker that had the uncertain title Moorman’s Book of Poker and was published in 2014. The book, which is set to be released in the United States in November 2014 and in Europe a month later, will take a novel approach in that Moorman will evaluate over 100 tournament hand histories played,  Poker strategy books are plentiful, but those written by someone of Moorman’s ability are becoming increasingly scarce.

For his second book, Chris rewrites “Moorman’s Book of Poker,” emphasizing strategy and more technique. The second book, spanning 344 pages, is an autobiography and a detailed exploration of Moorman, the renowned poker player.
