Chris Hunichen, also known as Big Huni, is an American professional poker player from Clayton, North Carolina. He has earned over $16 million in live earnings. Recently, he won his first WSOP bracelet at the 2024 WSOP $100,000 NLHE event, where he also achieved his highest live cash of $2,838,389. Additionally Hunichen is also an ambassador for The Phenom Poker.

Chris “Big Huni” Hunichen: Live Tournament Participation

Hunichen’s first live tournament was recorded in June 2018 during the 39th WSOP held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Competing in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event, he finished in 31st place cashing $13,737.

In July 2014, Big Huni took down the $1,100 No Limit Hold’em event at Deepstack Extravaganza III in Las Vegas, earning $301,442.

Another victory followed in August 2019 at the EPT High Roller event in Barcelona. in a €10,300 No Limit Hold’em tournament, Chris finished 1st for $927,408.

During the Poker Masters in Las Vegas on November 13th, 2019, Hunichen competed in the $50,000 NLHE Main Event. He reached the final table ending in second place for $442,000.

Chris competed in Nassau, Bahamas on November 19th, 2019. He joined the partypoker MILLIONS World in a $10,000 + 300 NHLE Main Event. He finished 3rd place and earned a whopping $1,097,195. 

Moreover, Big Huni joined WSOP in Las Vegas in a $250,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller Event in June 2022. He also finished 3rd place and cashed an impressive $1,931,718. 

Hunichen Wins His First-Ever WSOP Bracelet

His most recent cash (at the time of writing) on June 18th, 2024, Hunichen achieved a career milestone at the 55th WSOP in Las Vegas. He claimed his first bracelet in a $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller Bracelet Event. He secured and earned his best live tournament cash, a prize of $2,838,389.

In addition, he claimed 3rd place on June 21st, 2024. Big Huni made it to the final table at the 55th WSOP in a $250,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller Bracelet Event, cashing a whopping $2,397,312.
