Chip Jett is an American professional poker player from Arizona who currently resides in Las Vegas, with over $2.5 million in live tournament earnings. He clinched victory at the World Poker Finals in November 2002. Chip’s best live cash of $214,700 came when he finished in 1st place at the California State Poker Championship in June 2003.
He is currently married to Karina Jett, who is also a professional poker player.
Charles “Chip” Jett was born on September 22, 1974, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He started out as a lifeguard but soon discovered that being a poker dealer made a lot more money. At just 18, he went to dealer school. Initially, he played poker more than he dealt it. He landed a job at Fort McDowell Casino, where he worked his way up from floorman and shift boss to becoming a proposition player.
Chip Jett’s first recorded live cash occurred in June 2000 during the California State Poker Championship. He finished in 5th place in a $1,000 + 60 No Limit Hold’em, cashing $6,120.
In November 2002, Chip competed in a $1,000 + 100 No Limit Hold’em Event #11 at the World Poker Finals in Mashantucket. He clinched victory and won $35,700.
At the Fourth Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open in Tunica in January 2003, he won a cash prize of $175,900. Chip participated in a $2,000 + 80 No Limit Hold’em and clinched another victory.
During the California State Poker Championship in June 2003, he finished in 1st place. Chip took part in a $5,000 + 80 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event and won his biggest live cash of $214,700 to date.
Later in September of that year, he participated in a $5,000 + 80 No Limit Hold’em – WPT Main Event at the Legends of Poker in Los Angeles. Chip finished in 4th place and earned $100,425.
On June 23rd, 2005, Chip entered in a $5,000 Seven Card Stud at the 36th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 3rd place and took home $99,265.
Moreover, on August 3rd, 2005, he joined in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em at the London Open. Chip reached the final table by placing 4th and secured a prize of $150,000.
