Casey Kastle (1960-2024), born Ciril Kastelic in Ljubljana, Slovenia, was a well-known Slovenian-American professional poker player. Kastle has earned over $2.2 million in live tournament winnings. His best result came in June 2008 when he finished 2nd at the 39th World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, winning $137,985.

Kastle played poker for many years and participated in major tournaments like the WSOP and the Aussie Millions. He traveled worldwide to compete and was the first player to collect 50 flags on The Hendon Mob, highlighting his vast tournament experience.

Sadly, Casey Kastle passed away in May 2024 after a brave fight against leukemia and follicular lymphoma for three years.

Casey Kastle: Live Tournament Participation

Casey Kastle recorded his first live cash in January 1998, he participated in the $500 + $40 Limit Hold’em event at the Carnivale of Poker in Las Vegas, where he finished 3rd and earned $22,800.

Following this, in February 2004, Kastle entered the $9,900 + $100 No Limit Hold’em Championship at the WPT Poker Classic in Los Angeles. He placed 10th and cashed $45,380.

In July 2006, he continued to build his reputation by playing in the $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold’em World Championship Event at the 37th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He finished in 119th place, earning $51,129.

Subsequently, in June 2008, Kastle had a strong showing in the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo event at the 39th World Series of Poker, where he took 2nd place and earned $137,985.

Moreover, later that year, in August 2008, he participated in the $5,000 + $300 No Limit Hold’em tournament at the Asian Poker Tour in Macau, finishing 4th and cashing $90,000.

In January 2009, he further demonstrated his skill by competing in the $2,500 + $200 No Limit Hold’em Main Event at the Asian Poker Tour in Manila. He placed 3rd and took home $70,000.

During his most recent live tournament participation in October 2023, Kastle entered the £220 No Limit Hold’em Deepstack (Event #16) at the UK & Ireland Poker Tour in Edinburgh. He finished 5th and cashed $800.
