Can Kim Hua who goes by the nickname “CK”, is an Vietnamese-American professional poker player from Rosemead, California, with over $3 million in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $200,395 came when he finished in 4th place at the 36th WSOP in June 2005.
Before moving to the United States in the 1980s, Can Kim Hua worked as a fisherman in Vietnam. After relocating, he adjusted to his new life and explored various opportunities. Eventually, in the year 2000, he discovered his passion for poker. Since then, he has become a formidable player, often described as a shark seeking its prey at the poker table.

Kim Hua’s first recorded live cash occurred in March 1998, he entered a $200 + $20 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo Split event at the Winnin’ o’ the Green in Los Angeles, where he finished 7th and cashed $695.
Subsequently, in February 2004, he won 1st place in the $1,500 + $80 No Limit Hold’em tournament at the L.A. Poker Classic in Los Angeles, earning $184,815.
Later that year, in September 2004, he also claimed 1st place at the WPT Borgata Poker Open in Atlantic City, cashing $192,030 in a $1,500 + $80 No Limit Hold’em event.
In June 2005, Hua placed 4th in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em tournament at the 36th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, earning $200,395.
Following this, in September 2007, he finished 2nd in the $2,500 + $90 No Limit Hold’em Championship at the California State Poker Championship in Los Angeles, cashing $166,790.
Moreover, Hua continued to show strong results in June 2013, finishing 2nd in the $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo event (Event #20) at the 44th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, earning $171,577.
In August 2016, he competed in the $345 No Limit Hold’em Deepstack (Event #3) at the WPT Legends of Poker in Los Angeles, finishing 102nd and cashing $720.
