Byron Kaverman is from Fort Jennings, Ohio. He began playing poker in 2004, but only began competing in events in 2008. Byron Kaverman: Early Life

Byron Kaverman was born in 1987 in the little community of Fort Jennings, Ohio. He attended Tiffin University and now resides in San Diego. He started playing poker in 2004, when he learnt the basics by grinding home games at a friend’s house.

Kaverman started poker in 2004 but went pro in 2008, entering his first tournament to kick off his career. It was in a $3,000 No Limit Hold’em at the 39th World Series of Poker. For finishing 37th, he won $7,311. I

n January 2011, he made his live poker debut by winning a $5,200 No-Limit Hold’em 8-max tournament at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA). That day, Kaverman earned his first six-figure earning of $320,840. 

Kaverman has also won multiple six-figure prizes throughout the years. In 2014, Kaverman finished second in the WPT World Championship earning $727,860, losing the crown to Keven Stammen. In 2014, Kaverman set a new WPT record for the most cashes in a single season. 

Kaverman’s professional high came in June 2015, when he won the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Six Handed Championship event. It was at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) when Kaverman won $657,351 as well as a coveted gold WSOP bracelet. That year was also noteworthy for the poker pro because he defeated Doug Polk heads-up. 

With a fifth-place performance in the 2017 Super High Roller Bowl in May 2017, Kaverman earned his first seven-figure payday. That day, he won $1,400,000. The following year, in 2018, he finished fifth in the $1,000,000 The Big One for One Drop tournament in Las Vegas. He earned a whopping $2,000,000, his greatest payout to date.

Kaverman won the PokerStars European Poker Tour London £25,000 No Limit Hold’em in October 2022. After defeating Orpen Kisacikoglu in a gruelling heads-up battle, he defeated a field of 30 participants to earn a six-figure score of $307,401. He has become a regular on the European circuit, primarily concentrating on high-stakes games, and has added a large score and a trophy to his already impressive resume.
