Brian Taylor recorded his first live cash in May 2003, he entered a $100 + $20 Seven Card Stud tournament at the Sport of Kings in Inglewood, where he placed first and took home $6,560.

In August 2005, Taylor participated in a $500 + $50 Pot Limit Hold’em event at the WSOPC Tunica in Robinsonville. He finished in third place, earning $11,525.

Following this success, in May 2006, he competed in a $1,000 + $60 No Limit Hold’em tournament at the WSOPC Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. He again finished in third place, earning $18,236.
