Brian Haveson: Early Life

Brian Haveson was born in 1964 in Trenton, New Jersey. He began playing poker at the age of three, thanks to his parents who taught him the game. However, it wasn’t until after his significant business ventures that he began to take poker seriously. After earning a Business degree from Purdue, Haveson went on to become a partner and CEO at NutriSystem Corporation, eventually selling his stake for a seven-figure sum.

Brian Haveson’s poker career includes several notable achievements. In November 2001, he recorded his first live cash and he finished 3rd in the $300 + $30 Limit Hold’em event at the United States Poker Championship in Atlantic City, earning $9,462.

In April 2003, he placed 2nd in the $2,000 H.O.R.S.E. event at the 34th World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, earning $42,040.

Later that year, on November 14, he took 6th place in the $10,000 + $200 No Limit Hold’em World Poker Tour event at the World Poker Finals in Mashantucket, collecting $117,375.

On November 22, 2003, Haveson achieved 2nd place in the $10,000 + $200 No Limit Hold’em Main Event at the Showdown at the Sands in Atlantic City, earning $407,400.

In June 2006, Haveson won 1st place in the $2,500 + $100 No Limit Hold’em event at the Mandalay Bay Poker Championship in Las Vegas, with a payout of $169,580.

In June 2011, he finished 2nd in the $2,500 10-Game/Six Handed event at the 42nd WSOP in Las Vegas, receiving $157,491.

Most recently, in July 2024, he placed 21st in the $1,500 Mixed Games: Eight Game Mix – 6-Handed Bracelet Event #83 at the 55th WSOP in Las Vegas, earning $5,395.
