Brandon Moran is an American professional poker player and Head of Trading at Delavan Lake Trading from Chicago, Illinois, with over $403.6K in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $142,845 came when he finished in 2nd place at the 38th WSOP in July 2007.

Brandon Moran: Early Life

He attended Lehigh University from 1994 to 1998, where he studied Electrical Engineering. In March 2003, he began his trading career at Getco, where he worked until December 2006. Alongside his trading career, he entered his first live poker tournament in June 2004 at the Bellagio Weekly Tournaments, finishing in 3rd place.

In February 2008, he took on the role of President at Chopper Trading. Later that same year, he participated in the 38th World Series of Poker in June 2008. However, after this tournament, he stepped away from poker to focus on his role at Chopper Trading, where he remained until 2013. Years later, in October 2020, he co-founded Delavan Lake Trading, where he continues to work today.

Brandon Moran: Live Tournament Participation

Brandon Moran’s first recorded live cash occurred in June 2004 during the Bellagio Weekly Tournaments in Las Vegas. He finished in 3rd place in a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em, cashing $14,453.

Later in September of that year, he participated in a $10,000 + 300 No Limit Hold’em at the WPT Borgata Poker Open. Brandon finished in 5th place and earned $135,900.

At the 38th WSOP in Las Vegas in July 2007, he secured his biggest live cash of $142,845. Brandon entered in a $5,000 Ante Up for Africa Charity event and secured 2nd place.

Following this, Brandon joined in a $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha World Championship at the 39th WSOP in June 2008. He finished in 8th place and took home $107,442.

Fast forward to June 2024. At the 55th WSOP, he cashed $3,004. In this event, Brandon played in a $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha – 8 Handed Bracelet Event #18 and finished in 198th place.
