Bob Slezak recorded his first live cash in May 2001, winning the $2,600 Omaha Hi-Lo Split Eight or Better event at the 32nd WSOP in Las Vegas. This impressive debut earned him $173,625 and a WSOP gold bracelet.

In July 2004, Slezak claimed another title, taking 1st place in the $1,060 No Limit Hold’em Championship at the Orleans Open in Las Vegas, winning $131,355.
