Bob Bright: Early Life

Bob Bright was born on January 1st, 1940, in Las Vegas, Nevada. With a natural gift for mathematics, Bob Bright quickly distinguished himself in games and business. He aced standardized tests in high school and the Army, hinting at a bright future. His talent for poker, which earned him more than his monthly salary while he was still in school and the Army, set the stage for his career. After earning a degree in accounting and working as an executive for Johns-Manville Corporation, Bright moved his family to Las Vegas in 1974 to pursue professional blackjack card counting.

His success in this field led to casino bans, but he seamlessly transitioned to trading, applying his blackjack strategies to the options and futures markets. In 1992, he and his friend Eddie Franco started Bright Trading, shifting their focus to equities. While Franco retired in 2003, Bob Bright continued to lead and trade with the firm.
