Bill Gazes is an American professional poker player from Las Vegas, Nevada, with over $2.3 million in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $759,000 came when he finished in 3rd place at the World Poker Finals in November 2005. He was sponsored by the now-defunct Full Tilt Poker and had previously been married to poker pro Kristy Gazes.
Bill Gazes first recorded live cash occurred in 1993 during the November Madness in Lake Tahoe. He finished in 9th place in a $100 + 25 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, cashing $238.
Fast forward to January 2000. At the Carnivale of Poker III in Las Vegas, he won $111,142. In this event, Bill engaged in a $1,500 + 70 No Limit Hold’em and finished in 1st place.
In February 2004, Bill played in a $9,900 + 100 No Limit Hold’em Championship at the L.A Poker Classic. He finished in 4th place and earned $226,890.
Then, in June 2005, Bill finished in 3rd place at the 36th WSOP in Las Vegas. He pocketed $202,790 in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event.
Later in November 2005, he entered in a $10,000 + 200 No Limit Hold’em at the World Poker Finals in Mashantucket. Bill finished in 3rd place and secured his biggest live cash of $759,000.
Bill was eliminated in 2nd place at the 38th WSOP in June 2007. As a result, he earned a prize of $153,408 in a $5,000 H.O.R.S.E. event.
In June 2024, Bill competed in a $1,600 No Limit Hold’em – Seniors Event #37 at the Venetian DeepStack Championship Poker Series. He ended up in 147th place, earning $3,432.
