Benjamin “Spraggy” Spragg is a professional poker player, Twitch streamer, and commentator. He is originally from England and has been playing poker for over a decade. Spragg is known for his expertise in online poker, particularly No Limit Hold’em, and has had significant success in online tournaments throughout his career. Ben is married to fellow poker pro and presenter Marle Cordeiro.
Spragg was introduced to poker by his friends in high school and they would play whilst they were hanging out. Ben also watched a lot of poker content on YouTube and particularly enjoyed highlights of players losing their temper at the table.
Spraggy started his PokerStars account in his college days with $100. He was playing the cheapest tables he could. Not long after, in 2013, one of the biggest live cashes of his career came at a €1,100 Main Event on the UK & Ireland Poker Tour in Galway, where he finished 6th and won €30,210.
Benjamin “Spraggy” Spragg has become one of the most popular and influential poker streamers on Twitch. Over the years, he has built a dedicated following of fans who tune in to watch him play online poker, share his insights on strategy, and engage in entertaining banter with his audience. Spraggy began his streaming career in 2014, shortly after the launch of the PokerStars Twitch channel. He quickly gained a following thanks to his engaging personality and his ability to explain complex poker concepts in a way that was easy for viewers to understand.
Over the years, Spraggy has become known for his consistency and dedication to his craft. He streams on a regular schedule, typically for several hours a day, and he often streams for marathon sessions lasting 12 hours or more. His streams are highly interactive, with Spraggy engaging with his audience through chat, answering questions, and providing live commentary on his play. One of the keys to Spraggy’s success as a streamer has been his willingness to share his own mistakes and failures. He is open and honest about the ups and downs of his poker career, and he frequently discusses his own thought processes and decision-making in real-time. This transparency has helped to build a strong connection between Spraggy and his audience, and it has made him a trusted and respected figure in the poker community.
In 2020, Spraggy won his first of two WCOOP, finishing first in a $5.50 NLHE Turbo PKO Freezeout event on PokerStars for $4,349. The next year he stepped it up and played the $1,050 7-Max Turbo PKO Freezeout event, winning and cashing out $67,969.
Ben’s online playing record, where the vast majority of his earnings have occurred, has consisted mainly of MTTs. As for live poker, Spragg’s Hendon Mob page indicates $215,069 in earnings. Spraggy cashed $35k in 2019 at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in The Bahamas at the $25k NLHE Poker Players Championship event. In July 2021, Spraggy took 44th place for $10,120 in the $2,400 WPTDeepStacks Main Event, at the DeepStack Poker Championship Series in Las Vegas.
Spraggy loves to entertain his viewers. Regarding his win at the WCOOP in 2020, he said to reporters; “As a streamer, poker events like the WCOOP are to be enjoyed, so my aim is always to put on the best show. Of course, that means deep runs and winning as much money as possible because, ultimately, that’s what people want to see!”
