Ba Tran’s first recorded live cash occurred in October 1998 during the Big Poker Oktober in Bell Gardens. He finished in 4th place in a $200 + 20 Limit Hold’em, cashing $2,735.

In February 2004, Ba played in a $300 + 30 Limit Hold’em at the L.A Poker Classic. He finished in 4th place and earned $24,680.

Later in August of that year, he participated in a $1,000 + 60 No Limit Hold’em during the Legends of Poker. Ba finished in 3rd place and took home $23,465.
